We recently noticed that Samsung had achieved its lofty target of selling 10 million Galaxy S phones in 2010, which is definitely worthy of praise. Now reports are in that the Korean company actually accounts for about 1/3 of all Android shipments worldwide. Of course, the Galaxy S isn't the only Android-powered device from the company as there are other devices such as the Galaxy 5 and Galaxy 3 in the mix too. These figures aren't official, but if it's even close to the actual sales figures, it does put some interesting perspective on the whole thing, pointing out how important Samsung is to the growth and adoption of Google's Android. Of course, competitors such as HTC will play a big part in the battle against iOS and Windows, and we're hoping that it will spur more innovation.
