We've seen various leaked Android 2.2 firmware updates but if you've been waiting for the Android 2.2 Froyo update for your Samsung Epic 4G you're in luck. Word is going around that the update is currently being offered by Sprint and you should be receiving it in the form of an OTA (over-the-air) update. You've got to give Sprint some brownie points for getting the update out before other carriers and if you haven't received the update yet, you could always manually download the update as it's available online too. You can follow the instructions and get the update installed on your phone, but it's always worth reminding that you should backup your data before attempting such a move and proceed with caution, since you really wouldn't want to end up with a bricked Epic 4G.
