Telltale is best known for its line of adventure games based on various properties -- Sam & Max, Strong Bad, Wallace & Gromit, Monkey Island and, most recently, Back to the Future. It's also currently at work on games based on Jurassic Park and a newly-announced Fables game. Many details remain up in the air. It was not specified what system the games will be on, only that the deal Telltale has is for PC, Mac, consoles, handhelds, mobile, and social gaming platforms. It's also unclear what genre any of the games will be -- Kirkman told IGN, "The game is at an early stage, and we're in the process of mapping this all out now." We do know it'll take place in the comic book world and be an episodic series, as is the norm for Telltale releases.
As noted earlier today, Telltale Games has gone ahead and made the news official: It has come to a deal with Robert Kirkman to create multiple videogames based on comic book series The Walking Dead. It's a "multi-year, multi-platform, multi-title" deal that will see the first game released sometime in the fourth quarter of 2011, IGN reports.
